Hyderabad Kingsmen qualify for the final of PSL 11 in a thriller

The Kingsmen appears for the first time in the PSL 11 and travelled a remarkable journey to the final where she will meet Peshawar Zalmi. The Eliminator 2 clash of PSL 11 (2026) between the Hyderabad Kingsmen and Islamabad United will be remembered as one of the most thriller matches in the tournament’s history—a game that swung wildly before ending in a nail-biting finish.

Entry of Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final of PSL 11

Played at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium, the stakes couldn’t have been higher. A place in the final was on the line, and both teams came prepared for a fierce battle. Islamabad United, led by Shadab Khan, won the toss and chose to field first, hoping to exploit early conditions and restrict the Kingsmen.

Batting first, Hyderabad Kingsmen posted a competitive total of 186/5 in 20 overs. Usman Khan played a blistering knock of 61 off just 30 balls, setting the tone with aggressive stroke play. He found support from captain Marnus Labuschagne, who anchored the innings with composure. Late cameos ensured Hyderabad reached a total that looked challenging but not out of reach on a batting-friendly surface.

In response, Islamabad United began their chase with intent. Their batters kept pace with the required run rate, and the match gradually turned into a high-scoring thriller. Contributions from the middle order, including a quickfire finish by Chris Green, kept Islamabad in the hunt until the very last over.

With 5 runs needed off the final over, the pressure was immense. Hyderabad handed the ball to young pacer Hunain Shah, who had the responsibility of defending a modest target. What followed was pure drama. Despite a boundary attempt and chaotic running between the wickets, Hunain held his nerve, conceding just enough to seal a 2-run victory for Hyderabad Kingsmen.

Hunain’s remarkable performance

The final over perfectly encapsulated the unpredictability of T20 cricket. Just days earlier, Hunain had failed in a similar situation, but this time he redeemed himself in spectacular fashion—earning the Player of the Match award for his match-winning spell.

This victory marked a historic moment for Hyderabad Kingsmen, a debut franchise in PSL 11. Their journey from underdogs to finalists showcased resilience, teamwork, and the ability to perform under pressure.

For Islamabad United, it was heartbreak. Despite being one of the most successful franchises in PSL history, they fell agonizingly short in a match they nearly pulled off.

In the end, this thriller wasn’t just about runs or wickets—it was about nerve, belief, and seizing the moment. Matches like these are why fans love the PSL: unpredictable, intense, and unforgettable. Entry of Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final of PSL11 is a remarkable performance.
